Day 4 of 21 "The Total Tourist"
Today was the first normal day as far as getting up at a reasonable time and more importantly, staying awake all day. We ate breakfast at Peaches on the main drag in Dublin and then walked to the Jameson Distillery for a tour and tasting, followed by a tour and tasting of Guinness. Both were very well done, and we learned something very important about Guinness....the bugs don't like it, so drink plenty in the summer months to keep the bugs away. It's also rich in Vitamin B complex and iron. Back in the day, women who gave birth were given Guinness to recover quicker.
We finished the day with a delicious Guinness beef pie at the Guinness cafe and bar.
Tomorrow morning we'll check out of Wren Urban Nest and take an hour's train ride to Tullamore in the center of Ireland. Tomorrow we'll "tell ya more" about that!

After
On the way to Guinness, our tour group stopped at the oldest pub in Dublin for a pint. The Raven Head est. 1198. That's not a typo.
Along the way from Jameson to Guinness while crossing the River Liffey we saw this tanker filled with Guinness. They must've seen us heading their way.
There were 29 in our tour group. Here is the lineup guided by our tour guide. He made sure we each got a good pour and a good picture!
We learned how to order Guinness the proper way. "I'll have a pint of plain please!" Today we became honorary Dubliners. LOL I'm not much of a beer drinker, but I gotta admit, Guinness agrees with me, and that's a good thing. ;)
Here's to another good day, and we haven't even seen much green yet! That all changes tomorrow.
